Young Survivors by inklou Young Survivors by inklou
The two young survivors of AMC's The Walking Dead. The series is very good! ;w; Now I can't believe I have to wait a long time for season 2 like I am doing right now with Sherlock! LOL oh well. Regarding that poll I did, for those of you who are scared of zombies...well let me just say that the scare factor in this show is very low (in my opinion), it's more psychology/drama than action. It is gory though, but the whole time I was admiring the makeup work 8U

Took a break from commissions and practiced with textures and vectoring, which I seldom do because it is annoying looool;;;

I'm really fond of this serie. It's true they made an amazing job, especially with the make up!
Nice job and RIP poor Sophia...

nice pic. all i gotta say is the producers of wlaking dead are adding twists and turns to this, because sophia never should have died she survives through the prison and even farther after that. but she will be missed especially by carl lol

Yeah, but I'm honestly not sure which end for her is the better option- die at the beginning and get turned into a zombie, or live through the entire ordeal but suffer the lost of her mother and her memories and suddenly a whole string of identity crisis

And in the comics it seems even Carl abandoned her as he couldn't stand her anymore (then again, it's not like Carl's question of morality's getting an A+ for its good performance........)

i would rather have her live and be with people she knows, just my opinion, cause then it will make it better, instead of carl hitting on maggie's younger sister in season three of walking dead, it just doesn't feel right

I met them at comic-con! Madison Lintz, who played Sofia, was so nice, and me and friend went up to her and said "Good Dying" and she just smiled and said "Good living!"

This is actually pretty ironic after last week's episode.

I'm surprised at all the Shane hate though D: He's a freaking badass! He was right to open the barn like that, I think anyway. Hershel was going at it wrong, he could have gotten a lot of people hurt with the barn walkers.
Plus, it was an awesome mid season finale to finally see some walker mascaraing. There's been to much drama and not enough fighting in this arc I believe :/

And anyway, Lincoln, er, Rick killed Sophia. Shane honestly had nothing to do with it.
(Although I still love Rick the most and think he's a god for having the guts to kill Sophia <3)

BESIDES ALL OF THAT,
Fantastic drawing, I love the shading on the clothes and the forlorn expressions. Even though this drawing is kind of old, It's still one of my favorites in your gallery c:

Now that I've calmed down, I have to agree with you. Even I though I think Shane should still be killed, he has done some things for the good of the group. First off, Otis should have taken the chance to run away by himself, but no, he thought they could make it; seems like Shane didn't have much of a choice, and as cruel as it was, dare I say it, it COULD HAVE POSSIBLY be the right choice, not saying it is. And if it wasn't for the fact that Shane opened the barn, they could have still been wasting time and having high hopes for a little girl that's gone........But still, he should have done all of this with a cool head T.T"

I think shooting Otis WAS the right choice. Carl would have totally died if they couldn't get the medical instruments that they needed. Was it dark of Shane's part? Yeah, of course. But was there any other option? Not that I can see.

And yeah, the group was wasting way too much time looking for Sofia. I'm actually thrilled that she was a zombie, such and interesting plot twist. And she was there the entire time! How ironic.

Anyway, to sum it all up, Shane is TOTALLY CRAZY. But they need him to be that way, so he can be the badass character that makes the tough calls and takes the hard falls.

Oh get this, I just learned that it was in fact OTIS who found Sophia and put her in the barn, meaning that she was already dead since between the first and second episode of the season. Now that's even more ironic, and maybe, that's why no one in Hershel's farm besides Otis knew that she was there.

Thrilled that she was a Walker? I'm not, but at least they have the guts to make a known kid character a zombie. I mean, a lot of me was HOPING she was alive and somehow made it true, but deep, deep, deep down, I knew she was a goner T.T"

Hey, if your missing for 72 hours in modern times, they consider you dead. If your missing for an entire WEEK in the apocalypse, there is pretty much no hope for you

Haha, I actually agree with your views! I never 'hated' Shane as a result of him being a general ass, but normally I have this habit of looking at things at an objective point of view and noticed that Shane is just a very, very important contributor to the character dynamics in the group. His gradual personality change is very interesting to observe as well...that's is why I love Walking Dead so much, everything is so freaking, amazingly deep ;_______;

As for Hershel though, I have mixed feelings for his decisions. I mean, I see him as a pitiful character, mainly because he is very naive and often hopes the best out of everything. This personality can be crippling when it comes to dealing with the Apocalypse. It's just that, like Rick said, his family never really left the barn, so in a way they never had the chance to see how horrible the outside world really is. So it is only understandable that Hershel would ask the group to leave, as he is oblivious, or that he would believe in the Walkers being only merely sick. I pity him and his optimism, so I kind of felt a little sad when Shane and the group bursted in and killed off all the Walkers. But at the same time, this would also signify the end of Hershel's predicament...so I guess the group is most likely going to be kicked out of the barn now xDD;;

Exactly, Shane is there to create the extreme unbalance in the characters. He contributes to needed character development and saves the show from being about a bunch of depressed survivors. I agree with his changing personality too. I like how soft he acts towards Carl and Lori, even though he wouldn't even speak to them for a time. Yet to Dale, its like a whole other person, the man who shot Otis for the good of the people he loves.

As for Hershel, he needs to be a little more flexible, or he is going to get himself and the rest of his people killed if he cannot cope with the apocalypse. Its quite obvious he hates them now, if not all, Shane by a long run.
But I do not believe the Hershel will kick them out. I don't know if you've seen the last episode, but he had this look on his face after Rick shot Sofia. Kind of like, realization, like he realized that they are not sick, and truly are monsters. And if Rick can have the heart to shoot one of his own, he can have the heart to let go of the dead and move on c:
Or he had given up, and obviously does not care what happens now, that could also be an option..

Remember that one scene where Carl stood up to Shane at the worst possible moment and told him straight on he ain't going anywhere until they've found Sofia? Man, for a second I thought Shane was gonna do something he's gonna regret later...that one moment's look on his face was a little terrifying. And yeah, what you said about Dale. That scene literally had me on the edge of my seat at 3 am in the morning lol.

Yes, I think I do remember something like that. That scene was too intense, however, I barely even noticed it. But I have a feeling that even if Hershel did end up accepting the truth, he would still kick them out of the farm...perhaps, I believe, for more of a plot reason than anything really, lol. The group would have to move on sooner or later.

Yeah, I think they all have to move on at one point. Even Hershel and his people, they have been sheltered for too long!

Well hopefully, It all works out for the best.
The majority of this half season was quite slow, so I'm hoping they can pick it up in the last half of the season c:

Hmm, I'd rather throw Shane off a cliff than Hershel really, since Hershel is just a person with a pitiful way of thinking...Shane, he's all 18 kinds of urgh ;____;

I really appreciate him being the antagonist though, the group seriously needed something like this in order to have an interesting power dynamic shift.

Exactly. That's why Shane will have to wait... for now. Hershel on the other hand is just a dumbass, and it pisses me off Rick is trying to follow this guy's standards, which in an apocalypse, you should never follow. I mean, how can you survive an apocalypse and NOT kill walkers? But then again, Hershel is one of those characters that's meant to be hated, so no real point in complaining.

Rather than hate, more like I pity him in a way xD I'm sure his denial towards the apocalypse will be the cause of his downfall, but at the same time I find him so naive that I almost felt sorry for him. As for Rick, I truly understand his motivations towards accepting Hershel's way of thinking because his sole purpose of surviving in the first place is to protect Lori and Carl. So if it means acting like an idiot and leading a Walker awkwardly into the barn (which, in truth, WAS PRETTY SECURE until the whole group found out about it), then he would oblige to it. It's kind of like thinking, "man, this old man's nuts, but looks at his farm, it's like heaven in the middle of hell, why would I ever want to give up this chance after experiencing what we've been through outside?"

I'm very much aware of why Rick is going through all these dumbass requests of Hershel's, it just annoys me I guess. XD
Thank god Shane put a stop to all that, for once he does something useful!

That scene was just awesome by the way. Even before Sophia showed up (RIP) I thought it was the best scene the show has offered us so far. = )

awww, calm down D: I think it's a radical decision to keep Shane, but Shane poses as a very important character to balance out the dynamics of the entire group. Without him, hierarchy doesn't work anymore because the series won't have any drama left ): I haven't seen the latest one yet, but judging by your tone I think Sofia actually died then? ;___; darn, that's making me tear up, now I really wanna go watch the episode...
